About Counselling

How Counselling Works
There are times in all of our lives when we face personal challenges which are difficult to negotiate, counselling can help to navigate through these difficult times. I specialise in supporting my clients to find a solution that works for them.

The direction each session takes is always based on listening carefully to what clients want and supporting them whilst we work through the options open to them. My goal is always to provide a confidential, collaborative and non-judgemental environment which allows clients to determine the desired outcome and then to work on how they might achieve this.

In my experience this provides clients with the uniquely tailored support they require and empowers them to make the changes they want in their lives.

The changes could stem from, for example, wanting to deal with anxiety or depression which has been lingering for a while or to manage a difficult relationship in a different way. For children and young people it could be changes which help with friendship issues, the organisation of school work, coping with parental conflict or managing behaviour.

These are just some examples of areas where counselling may be of help.
